Danny Salvatore has been CrossFitting for more than five years and specializes in Olympic weightlifting, Strongman training and strength training that focuses on joint specific/isolation work. “I’m passionate about helping people, and guiding folks to become stronger more athletic versions of themselves,” he says. “The feeling of hitting a personal record is truly one every person partaking in a healthy journey should not only experience, but chase! I love news of the scale decreasing, or to hear that a client has had a great week of food choices. These progressions are things that keep me excited about helping our clientele, and knowing that we are moving in the right direction to truly help people!”
Coaching brings Danny the joy of seeing each member’s quality of life improve. “I love when we see people truly open up and start having FUN exercising in here,” he says. “It is a privilege to be in here working, and sometimes it is viewed as a chore. But when I start seeing folks making friends, competing each workout, or trying to become their best self, that is when I truly feel at home helping and coaching.”
Danny’s athletic background includes swimming and playing lacrosse at Clarence High School, followed by swimming all through college at SUNY Cortland. “My senior year of college I was an NCAA DIII ‘B’ qualifier and school record holder in the 100 Breaststroke, and was ranked 39th in the nation for DIII,” he says. “I was also a member of two school and conference record medley relays (the 200 and 400 medleys).” He became a CrossFit coach when his assistant coaches (two of his best friends) introduced him to the training program during morning lifting sessions before practice. Since that early November morning in 2011 he’s never looked back.
His favorite motivational quote: “Remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something, and has lost something.” ~H. Jackson Brown Jr.
